Friends of the Marshall Community Library Farmers' Market Rules and Mission Statement 2008 Mission statement: To give growers and producers of Wisconsin agriculture commodities and other farm-related products alternative marketing opportunities. To promote the sale of Wisconsin grown products. To improve access to a variety of fresh and nutritional produce in the Marshall area. To provide an opportunity for farmers and people from urban communities to deal directly with each other rather than through third parties, and to thereby get to know and learn from each other. To enhance the quality of life in the Marshall area by providing a community activity that fosters social gathering and interaction To preserve Wisconsin's unique agricultural heritage and the historic role which farmers' markets have played in it. September 6, 13, 20, 27, October (Mother Nature permitting) 4, 11, 18, 25 Craft Vendor Dates: May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27, October 25

Vendor Rules/Guidelines:
* Dates: Saturdays beginning May 2008 ending in October (TBA), 9 am-Noon, working with Mother Nature
* Park in Marshall Community Library parking lot where assigned by one of the co-chairs. Presently, there is no registration fee for the vendors at this farmers' market. Take only the room you need and allow room for more vendors.
* Vendors are responsible for the clean-up of their sales area. Please leave the area clean at the end of the market day.
* Vendors must furnish their own tables, chairs, brooms, dustpans and garbage removal. All trash must be removed from the market site and taken with each vendor. This includes leftover produce. Talk to other vendors: they may be interested in using it for compost* Produce sold at the market must be grown in Wisconsin.
* Items Allowed: Home grown fresh produce items, home-made and hand crafted items.
Home grown produce to be defined as produce items on property owned, common garden plots, or property leased by the grower in the state of Wisconsin. Produce is edible vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, honey, eggs, home-grown fresh flowers and plants that are truthfully labeled. Home-made items to be defined as those items made in a person's home by them or an immediate family member and sold by that person or the immediate family. Hand-crafted items to be defined as items manufactured by seller or the immediate family member and sold by that person or immediate family member.
* Craft market days will be the last Saturday of the month.
* Vendor will be asked to leave if they violate these guidelines. Repeat offenders will not be allowed to participate in future farmers' markets.
